There is a pain that comes with the new knowing, a sting, a burning. Then there is a sense of loss, grief, and anger finally subsiding in a sense of disappointment. The major issue for me is that so much that we have been taught or told has not been truthful. Disillusionment hits hard, it rocks your worldview.
Ignorance is not bliss, it is a blister, painful when popped.
